I am an editor and I make sure that articles are written in correct and clear English

I came to the UK as a child in the 1970s, when I was the only foreigner in my whole primary school in southeast London. I have lived in England and Northern Ireland, and have studied at Queen's University of Belfast and City University in London. After working as a commissioning editor in textbook publishing, I had a career change and became a journalist. I have worked for many national newspapers, including The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph - not bad for someone whose first language is not English! My home for the past 20 years has been a house only a few miles away from that first primary school, where I am positive there's now more than one foreign child. London is very much my home, and I am proud to call myself an immigrant and a Londoner.
